Could I be pregnant?!?
Recently I have been having symptoms that I had in previous pregnancies - queasy, tired, mood swings, irritable, hungry all the time, swollen belly, back ache. I have also been getting sharp little pains in my ovaries and womb. I am usually on the Pill but we do not use any other form of contraception. I went on a course of antibiotics about a month ago and it was only after they were finished that I remembered they can cancel the effects of the Pill. Then my Pills ran out and I only managed to get some more a few days ago. So basically, I have been unprotected for at least two weeks (possibly a month if you take the antibiotics into account). The little pains and other symptoms started about two weeks ago. My partner and I have been making love quite a bit more regulary lately - ironic since I didn’t even think about my lack of contraception. I did go and see a doctor for the pains but I forgot to tell him about the antibiotics and the possibility that I had been unprotected for awhile. He felt my womb and told me that he could feel quite a large swelling in my uterus and that it was probably a slight infection. He prescribed antibiotics (more!) and some painkillers. I thought at the time it was strange that he did not do a pregnancy test first as the last time I saw a doctor for uterine pain, the first thing they did was a pregnancy test. A good thing too as it turned out I was pregnant but it was ectopic and I had to have emergency surgery to have it removed. Due to a busy work schedule I only managed to fill my prescription a few days ago and I still had the nagging thought that I may be pregnant so I have not taken the meds yet (if I am pregnant I don’t want to hurt the baby). Yesterday I bought a home preg test to find out what I need to do. I took it this morning and I am still not sure! It showed a faint positive line almost immediately which totally floored me! I guess it is always a shock even if you are expecting it. I just sat there staring at it - those two purple lines. As I watched, the positive line faded away and liquid (urine I presume) filled the test window. The test line faded alot too. Now I am not sure if the test was damaged and the whole thing was invalid or if the initial positive was accurate and then the test bombed out or if it was actually negative and the faint positive line was a fluke. I live far from town so its not easy for me to get a test so I cant just do it again tomorrow to be sure. It is freaking me out really badly. I cant even share it with my partner as we decided not to have children and I dont want to worry him unnecessarily. If it is positive, I need to know for sure before I turn our lives upside down! Please can someone tell me what the chances are that I am pregnant?!?
Of course you COULD be, with the antibiotics and missed pills. I would wait until the day AFTER tomorrow, that way the HCG has a chance to double. Get an early pregnancy test.
Of course missing pills can cause an assortment of side effects too! I personally would not tell your partner until you know.
Like you said, why turn your lives upside down if it is not needed.
If the test line faded or was missin you may have had a faulty test.

2 lines, no matter how faint mean pregnant. Call your doctor first thing in the morning and do NOT take the medications he perscribed until he gives you the ok and gives you a blood test.

anything can happen you should have asked them to do a pregnancy test be more prepared when you go to the doctor!

Get another test and take it first thing in the morning, i had 1 that did the same thing and i was pregnant, the posititve line dont have to be dark, good luck

hey! i only been on the pill once and got off of it, but i do know a little about the pill. i do know antiobiotics does sometimes interefere with the pill and yes it can be a possibility you can be pregnant if you were having unprotective sex and taking the antibiotics and pill at the same timee. the antibiotic doesn’t let the pill does it job, so pregnancy is a possibility. and sometimes the pill whacks ur hormones out, so a home pregnancy test is not the best answer. if i were you i wouldn’t take any painkiller’s since you have your doubts and either consult with your docter and tell him about your situation and symptoms and sometimes that’s better if they take your bloodwork. or you can go as a wlk-in into a woman’s health center and take a pregnancy test.
